Vietnam and Japan Seek to Promote Cooperation in Digital Transformation | Sci Tech
Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam wishes to continue to receive close coordination and assistance from the Japanese government and enterprises in promoting their strategic partnership on digital transformation, Vietnamese Vice Minister of Information and Communication said on October 12. Communication, Nguyen Huy Dung.
He made this statement during a forum on the theme “Digital transformation for a Inclusive digital society”, which was co-organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC), the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Digital Agency of Japan and the International Cooperation Center for Computerization (CICC).
The event, which is part of Vietnam International Digital Week 2022provides participants with the opportunity to share their experience in the field of digital transformation and digital society, thus strengthening cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the information and communication sector, contributing to the construction of a digital partnership between the two countries.
The vice minister said that Japan has succeeded in its industrialization process and caught up with many advanced countries. The East Asian nation has experience in addressing social issues such as population aging, resource management and climate change, he noted.
Dung said the valuable experience shared by Japanese speakers is helpful for the Vietnamese side.
Addressing the event, Koichiro Urabe, Director of CICC, affirmed that digital transformation is necessary for the further development of economy and society in Japan and Vietnam.
Do digital transformation beneficial to people, Japan is studying related issues, including a national initiative on building digital cities, he said.
Urabe added that the forum will help Japan and Vietnam deepen their understanding of digital transformation and promote greater cooperation in the digital field./.
