Tokyo man tells police he used fake pin to enter parliament building

A 22-year-old man, who was re-arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of breaking into a government building where the Health Ministry is located using a fake Diet member’s pin, has told police he had entered other ministry buildings and the Diet, which houses the nation. Parliament, investigative sources said.

Kanato Fujimoto of Tokyo’s Shinagawa district was arrested last month and then charged with entering the Foreign Ministry on August 24 with the pin on his suit. Police said he admitted to the allegation, saying he “wanted to feel like someone in a high position”.
