Milling Foundation Board of Trustees Announces Student Loan Opportunities

The Milling Foundation offers low interest and even interest free loans to graduates of Marion County schools who attend the University of Florida.

The loans are available for four years for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and students can borrow up to $ 30,000 over four years.

Loan amounts are based on available resources and financial need. This year’s application deadline is March 26, 2021. Laureates will be notified after the May Milling Foundation Board meeting.

The Milling Foundation is a special trust fund designed for graduates of Marion County schools who attend the University of Florida. The Marion County Superintendent of Schools and the principals of Marion County public high schools sit on the foundation’s board of directors and determine loan amounts on a case-by-case basis.

Students can use their loans for tuition and other expenses related to education and college. As long as students are enrolled in UF, no interest is charged on the loan. The loans may even be interest free for students returning to Marion County after graduating from college.

Applications are available from the guidance services of each local high school. For more information, contact the Milling Foundation at (352) 840-3269.
