Islamic State fighter gets afterlife in Syria from Japanese and American hostages

A US court on Friday sentenced an Islamic State militant to life in prison on charges including the deaths of American, British and Japanese hostages in Syria.

El Shafee Elsheikh, from Britain, was found guilty in April of charges of involvement in the conspiracy that led to the deaths of victims including American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff as well as Japanese hostages Kenji Goto and Haruna Yukawa .
