The Supreme Court today ordered US citizen of Bangladeshi descent Imran Sharif to return his two daughters to the care of their mother, Japanese national Eriko Nakano for the next two days.

The two Japanese children Nakano Jasmine Malika (11) and Nakano Laila Lina (9) came from Japan with their father in February this year.

A five-member bench of the Appeal Division led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order at the hearing of a motion filed by Eriko challenging a High Court verdict and seeking children under his jurisdiction. keep.

The Supreme Court also set December 15 as the resumption of the hearing of the petition.

Lawyers Ahsanul Karim accompanied and Mohammad Shishir Manir appeared for Eriko while lawyer Fawzia Karim Firoze pleaded for Imran.

In rendering a verdict on Eriko’s petition, the HC ordered on November 21 that Jasmine and Laila will stay with their father Imran and that Eriko be able to meet with them (children) three times a year.

Eriko can meet his daughters for 10 days in a row exclusively while Imran has to pay for his travel and other relevant expenses during those times, he said.

In addition, Eriko can also meet her children in Bangladesh at any other time at her own expense as she lives in Japan and holds services in her country, the HC said.
